Hallam Handicap Doubles weekend

The Hallam handicap doubles tournament, commemorating the late Brian Hallam – a fine croquet player who loved doubles – was contested by 14 pairs of club members this weekend, and much enjoyed despite a torrrential downpour flooding the lawns on Saturday after tea and forcing the event to be abandoned for the evening, and resumed Sunday morning. The winners of the main knockout event were Brian's son Omied Hallam partnering the up-and-coming 11 year old Elizabeth Shelton. There were also various prizes for the fastest game, most peels, the quiz etc.  More photos on the club's  Facebook page .
